e-Analysis builds on the wealth of data available within the Bromcom MIS system.
e-Analysis aims to take reporting and analysis beyond what is currently possible, allowing senior staff and teachers within schools to quickly and easily analyse and compare the performance of students, classes or the school as a whole across the various e-SchoolMIS modules. With e-Analysis, a school can compare student's academic achievement with their baseline starting data and cross reference this with their attendance.
Another aspect of e-Analysis is to make information currently available else where in e-SchoolMIS more easily understandable with numerous graphical display options. For example, EGB (GradeBook) and e-Assessment currently produce reports which present a student's performance across the subjects. These reports list all the subjects that the student has on their timetable and display results for the various categories input by the teachers e.g. Effort, Behaviour and Attainment. The school can opt to include attendance for each subject as well as these grades. AM/PM Attendance figures are also given and the school can also opt to include text comments. Interest has been growing in an enhanced version of these reports - making them easier to visualise (using graphs) and including averages. Progress Reports could also include Rank Order indicators.
Further to the Progress Reports, there is considerable interest in being able to show comparative information in such reports. Comparing the student's performance against their target or their previous performance (as appropriate).
Schools are keen to monitor progress of students against academic targets. Such targets can be imported into e-Assessment where a Category can be attached to them (such as "Year 7 Target Level"). Schools can then collect information from teachers as to the student's current performance and compare it against the target.
This will enable schools to spot potential areas of concern in students' attendance, behaviour or academic performance and be pro-active in preventing such situations from worsening.
