"I saw this [Teacher's WebFolder] at BETT, it's pretty cool stuff, quick and looks good. The biggest benefit is that it's a boxed product that works right off the shelf.... ...it doesn't rely on any other system, software etc. No need for Sharepoint or other VLE, so it can be dropped onto any SIMS system and work with no / minimal config. Could be great for Primary Schools, ...cheap to boot. It deals with attendance, behaviour, ... shows SEN, Medical Info, displays a nice looking timetable as well. Need to check if cover is pulled through from SIMS. Oh yeah, and Assessment works really well, including the comment box. Got some nice summaries being created automatically too, included some assessment data / graphs." Vik Paw - Jeddah International School "Bromcom's Teacher's WebFolder Mobile fits perfectly with Essa Academy's philosophy of embracing mobile technology by including an all teacher solution." Abdul Chohan "...with an excellent front-end to SIMS, Teacher's WebFolder brings SIMS, including registration, assessment etc. to a wide choice of devices! They have created a user-friendly and intuitive interface for SIMS, that can be used on iPod touch, iPhone, and other devices (e.g. smartphones) with a browser. It's SIMS how it should be, and excellent value. It's also secure, and is integrated with SIMS. This approach of abstracting SIMS data to a new presentation layer is a good one! Imagine being able to give your staff an iPod touch each as their main register ... and because it's consumer technology it's comparatively cheap!" Alan Day |
Teacher's WebFolder has certainly got people talking, with one prominent school in Kent reporting that "... we have a growing number of staff with iPhones and iPod touches, many are now saying ’get me SIMS on an iPod touch and you can have my laptop back’".
