Bromcom's Management Information System (MIS) software for Secondary schools, Academies, Free schools and Primary schools is purpose built to manage school data relating to students, curriculum, resources etc.

The Bromcom MIS provides capabilities for entering test and assessment scores, building timetables, tracking attendance and managing many other student-related data needs in a school.

Installations vary in size and scope. From packages implemented in relatively small organizations for covering student records, to enterprise-wide solutions that aim to cover a range of aspects of running multi site split schools.

The Bromcom MIS can be scaled to different levels of functionality by the addition of modules which can be configured to meet specific requirements.

School-based browser installation or centrally hosted/cloud deployed

Bromcom are pioneers in using browser technology in schools. Unlike other browser alternatives on the market, the Bromcom MIS can be installed locally in your school, or centrally hosted by local authority/Bromcom.

Secure Data

Data security is of utmost importance to us. We do not require Bromcom MIS users to open SQL ports to the curriculum network, unlike an alternative MIS product from a well-known supplier.

Installation Updates

You may have heard Network Managers' frustration at spending a substantial amount of their time updating workstations around the school every time there is a new update. Bromcom core MIS is browser-based so workstation updates are not required, freeing up valuable time and resources.

The heart of the Bromcom MIS. This module allows the school to create and maintain Student, Contact, Governor and Staff information. Admissions, Exclusions, CTF Import and Export are all presented in a user friendly, readily understandable manner. All School, LA and DCSF requirements are covered. You can define additional fields that you might need, such as to record locker numbers, or to tag those going on a school trips, for example.

e-Census is designed to collect all the relevant data for each of the school censuses at the touch of a button. It only asks for the data it ‘knows’ you haven’t got – anything relevant that you have entered already is automatically included. Review and solve any issues or queries on screen and save the finished return – simple!

e-Exams streamlines the complete exam administration process from start to finish. Set up the exam season, identify the candidates, apply their unique identifiers, import the base-data, enter them for exams, sort out clashes, room the exams, produce timetables/registers/seating plans, import the results and output the performance analysis. The exam timetables can be imported via our Exam Attendance Marker interface and electronic registration used as usual. If only the exams themselves were that easy!

e-Behaviour enables schools to quickly and efficiently collect, monitor and report all aspects of positive and/or negative behaviour, both in lessons and around school. Your existing behaviour and reward policy is applied to the module. Events are recorded with just a couple of keystrokes. Attendance marks can also be mapped to e-Behaviour (for example, late marks). e-Contact links seamlessly into our Attendance and Behaviour packages to automatically trigger SMS and/or email messages, to maintain contact with parents and carers. Chase up first day absences, inform of truancy or detentions or, on the positive side, notify parents of safe arrival to school, achievements etc. Receive information back by the same process and update the relevant records quickly and easily. The administrator can also send ‘global messages’, for example reminders for consultation evenings, as well as checking the automated messages for those that should not be sent e.g. where a known family circumstance mitigates the situation.

The Bromcom VLE operates as a layer above the your MIS making relevant information available to verified users. Staff can create Lesson Plans, Assignments and Quizzes for pupils to complete online. e-Messaging is an internal school communication facility which sends text messages between teachers and other school staff. A useful alternative to providing staff access to worldwide email. Sometimes known as “Bromcom email” it can also send one-way messages to individual staff and to groups such as “the Leadership Team” or “the Heads of Year” etc. No more students missing out on learning because they are needed as “runners” This facility also provides the interface for Bromcom's Safety and Security Alerts and keeps an audit trail of them. Teachers can raise an alarm from their classroom with just a couple of key strokes – medical, fire or a request for support.

e-Support can be seen as an add-on module to e-Administration and e-Curriculum, as well as a self contained module focused on meeting the needs of child support services in a school. This includes such roles as the Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and the Gifted and Talented Coordinator. It is designed to collect and disseminate information to support the effective education of students.

e-Support extends basic student data to include further information about their education needs. The basic education support information as defined by the DCSF in their CBDS is already found in e-Admin. e-Support builds on this data to give greater detail, which in turn is used by teachers and support staff in supporting their students.
